On December 30th, the Municipal Aging Work Committee held a plenary session to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on aging work, conscientiously implement the spirit of the national and provincial aging committee plenary sessions, report on the city's aging work in recent years, deploy key work for 2025, and review the "Working Rules of the Xi'an Aging Work Committee" and "Responsibilities of Member Units of the Xi'an Aging Work Committee". Yang Jianqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Mayor, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting pointed out that in recent years, under the strong leadership of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the member units of the Municipal Aging Committee have worked together to continuously improve the city's aging policies and regulations, expand the scope and efficiency of service guarantee supply, strengthen elderly care and assistance, deepen the construction of an elderly friendly society, accelerate the development of the elderly care industry, and increase the attention, support, and participation of all sectors of society in aging work. The aging industry has shown an upward trend.

The meeting emphasized the need to enhance political standing and deeply understand that doing a good job in aging work in the new era is a major strategic task to actively respond to population aging, an important measure to implement the instructions of provincial and municipal leaders, and an inevitable requirement to meet the multi-level and diversified needs of the elderly. It is necessary to consciously enhance the sense of responsibility and mission in doing a good job in aging work in the new era, fully tap into the development potential of Xi'an's silver economy, comprehensively improve the quality and efficiency of aging work, and enable the elderly to enjoy a happy old age. We need to change our ideological concepts, accurately grasp the new situation and challenges faced by the aging population in our city, as well as the new tasks and requirements faced by the aging work, take proactive and systematic planning, and effectively prevent and resolve various risks and hidden dangers brought about by the aging population. We must vigorously implement key tasks, fully leverage the leading and overall functions of the Municipal Aging Office, strengthen overall coordination, strengthen horizontal coordination and coordination among member units of the Municipal Aging Committee, fulfill their respective responsibilities and duties, promote the establishment of local aging committees in various districts, counties, and development zones, strengthen the overall coordination and strength allocation of grassroots aging work, consolidate the strong force of aging work, continuously improve the basic elderly care service system, perfect the health service support system, expand social participation of the elderly, cultivate and develop the silver economy, and accelerate the high-quality development of the aging industry.
