The 2nd Guangzhou Smart Health Care (Elderly friendly) Equipment Innovation Design Competition was held in Huangpu, Guangzhou!

From now until July 8th, we are soliciting entries for the competition from social enterprises, universities, research institutions, and individuals!

This competition has been comprehensively upgraded to create a 2.0 version of the health and wellness ecosystem that integrates "events+capital+industry+carriers+services+policies". Through the deep linkage of "one competition, one exhibition, one policy", it accurately connects with the needs of the elderly population, continuously excavates high-quality elderly friendly equipment achievements, and promotes the development of Guangzhou's silver economy towards scale, standardization, clustering, and branding. Innovative achievements are directly delivered from the competition venue to the community, allowing technological innovation to truly benefit the vast elderly population and jointly paint a beautiful picture of "elderly care, elderly support, elderly happiness, and elderly security". The competition is guided by the Civil Affairs Bureau, Industry and Information Technology Bureau, and Huangpu District People's Government of Guangzhou, and hosted by the Huangpu District Civil Affairs Bureau and the Office of the Guangzhou Elderly Work Committee.

Two major tracks directly hit the pain points of elderly care and basic needs

This competition focuses on six core scenarios including disability care, dementia care, and emotional companionship, with a focus on collecting innovative achievements in areas such as mobility assistance, cognitive intervention, and health monitoring to accurately respond to the multi-level needs of the elderly population.

In terms of track design, the competition is divided into two major categories: "Innovative Design Group" and "Product Innovation Group", covering the entire chain from concept to product, targeting the pain points of elderly care needs.

Innovation Design Group: Encourage the cross-border integration of cutting-edge technology and elderly care scenarios, and select the "Top Ten Innovation Design Awards" with a prize of 10000 yuan per item;

Product Innovation Group: For practical benchmark products launched after January 1, 2024, the "Top Ten Product Innovation Awards" will be selected, with a prize of 25000 yuan for each award.

The total prize money for the competition is as high as 350000 yuan. In addition to cash rewards, all award-winning projects will receive one-stop support such as achievement display, industry docking, capital empowerment, policy support, etc., to help innovative achievements quickly move from the laboratory to the market.

From "experts the final say" to "users the final say"

In the past, technology competitions were often dominated by experts and determined by papers. This time, the rules have been completely rewritten.

This competition pioneered the "Silver Hair Experience Officer" evaluation mechanism. In addition to industry experts and think tanks evaluating entries from dimensions such as technological innovation and industrial value, a "practical testing of elderly friendly scenarios" section will be added, inviting real elderly users, leaders of elderly care institutions, and community elderly care service personnel to form a "silver hair experience officer" team to score the actual user experience of the product. All shortlisted projects must go through the "elderly friendly scenario testing" stage, not only to "understand the elderly", but also to "use it". Only when the elderly use it well can it be a truly good product.

Full chain achievement transformation

The award-winning products have entered the old expo and been included in the national centralized procurement list

This competition will be deeply linked to the 10th Guangzhou Old Expo, creating a "one competition, one exhibition, one event" trinity industry grand ceremony.

The award ceremony of the competition will be held simultaneously with the 10th Guangzhou Old Expo. The award-winning products will be located in the core exhibition area of the main hall of the old expo, sharing nearly 20 industry summits and 100000 professional audience resources of the old expo. The organizing committee will unify the planning and attract attendees to check-in.

It is worth mentioning that this competition will build a full chain achievement transformation system, bridging the "last mile" of innovation landing. Based on the 3000 square meter Silver Hair Chain Selection Center, a permanent exhibition hall for award-winning products will be established. The award-winning products can be freely registered and included in the national centralized procurement list; The competition will also establish a silver hair technology live streaming base to achieve "exhibition promotion and sales driven production".

According to the schedule, the collection of works will be open to the public from now until July 8th. The online preliminary round will be completed in July, and the offline final will be held in August. At the same time, the award ceremony and silver industry development conference will be held at the China International Import Expo. It is reported that the first Guangzhou Smart Health and Wellness (Elderly friendly) Equipment Innovation Design Competition was launched in November 2023, lasting for 4 and a half months, attracting nearly 400 teams to compete on the same stage. Among them, there are top universities and industry leaders such as Tsinghua University, Huawei, and Youbixuan, as well as projects from Hong Kong, Macao, and overseas participating in the competition, leading the country in terms of scale and internationalization.
