On August 25, 2023, the 7th China (Guangzhou) International Elderly Care and Health Industry Expo opened in Zone A of the Canton Fair. The Guangzhou Civil Affairs Bureau and Chengdu Civil Affairs Bureau jointly signed a cooperation framework agreement at the exhibition site. The two cities will further strengthen cooperation in eight areas, including social organizations, elderly care services, social assistance, child welfare, marriage registration, funeral management, charity work, and other matters.
Specifically, the two cities will strengthen cooperation in the development of "mega city elderly care services", providing support for cross city and cross regional management and operation of elderly care service enterprises, talent training for institutions, standard co research, exchange of elderly care service industry organizations, research and development and manufacturing of elderly care products and supplies.
Exploring the establishment of a mechanism for sharing information on social assistance families between the two regions, promoting the integration and sharing of government data, public utility data, and social data between the two regions, and strengthening cooperation in receiving and returning homeless and beggars from both regions, as well as source governance.
Carry out talent exchange and training in the field of child welfare. Continuously strengthen the research and linkage of the "cross provincial linkage" policy and the communication and exchange between the marriage registration authorities in the two regions. Establish a mechanism for research linkage of funeral policies, professional technical exchange of funeral services, and sharing of funeral technology achievements. Link charitable resources between the two regions to promote cooperation in charitable projects.
Guangzhou and Chengdu are both mega cities, with a strong foundation and broad prospects for cooperation and development in civil affairs, "said the relevant person in charge of the Guangzhou Civil Affairs Bureau. Through a series of cooperation and exploration in key areas of civil affairs, the two cities have innovated their livelihood service models and responded to the new demands of the people for civil affairs and livelihood work.
It is reported that according to the cooperation framework agreement, the civil affairs departments of the two regions will work more closely together to create new highlights for the reform, innovation and development of key areas of civil affairs in the two regions, explore and improve new mechanisms for the coordinated development of civil affairs in the two regions, and jointly build a new platform for communication and cooperation between the civil affairs departments of the two regions.
