On the morning of February 21st, in response to the joint issuance of the "Action Plan for Increasing Tourist Trains to Promote Tourism Consumption Development" by 9 units including the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and China Railway Group, and to promote the development of silver haired tourism in Hubei, the organizing committee of the Central Elderly Expo, represented by Yan Wei, Vice President and Secretary General of the Hubei Elderly Industry Association, and Liu Lin, Deputy Secretary General of the Hubei Social Organization Association, visited the Hankou Station Group Passenger Marketing Service Center and received a warm reception from Director Liu Li of the Hankou Station Ticketing Workshop.


The Action Plan for Increasing the Operation of Silver Hair Tourism Trains to Promote the Development of Service Consumption aims to promote the deep integration of railways and tourism, meet the growing tourism needs of the elderly population, and inject new vitality into the silver hair economy. Both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the service mode of Hubei Silver Hair Tourism Train and other related work.


Yan Wei, Vice President and Secretary General of Hubei Elderly Industry Association, gave a detailed introduction to Director Liu Li on the curatorial ideas for the silver tourism section of the 2025 Central Elderly Expo and the preparations for the Hubei Province Middle aged Talent Competition. Director Liu Li provided a detailed introduction to the operation of the Hankou Station Group Passenger Marketing Service Center, which is a key department dedicated to serving group passengers and exploring the potential of the passenger transportation market. Since its establishment, the center has been committed to providing convenience for various groups to travel. In terms of service targets, it mainly targets travel agencies, universities, enterprises, government agencies, etc. that travel together with more than 20 people. In the process of passengers entering the station and boarding, coordinated and linked with stations such as Wuhan, Wuchang, Yichang East Station, etc., special methods such as prioritizing ticket processing, opening green channels, providing station guidance services, and waiting in designated areas can fully ensure the safe and smooth travel of elderly group passengers.


Subsequently, Director Liu Li accompanied the on-site survey of the transportation routes for passengers entering the station on the Silver Hair Tourism Train, as well as the aging friendly facilities such as the Silver Hair Tourism shuttle bus stops and the elderly special area services.


In order to promote the implementation of the supply of silver hair tourism train services in Hubei, strengthen the guarantee of aging friendly facilities, improve the service level of silver hair tourism trains, and optimize the development environment of silver hair tourism trains, after mutual consultation, it is proposed that on February 25, 2025, the Hubei Provincial Aging Industry Association will lead the organization of provincial silver hair tourism related units to hold a symposium and exchange meeting. Discuss the service model of silver tourism trains and work together to promote the development of silver economy in Hubei.
