From September 15th to 17th, 2023, the "2023 Xi'an International Elderly Care Industry Expo and Xi'an International Elderly Care Cooperation and Exchange Conference" was successfully held at the Xi'an International Convention and Exhibition Center (Chanba). The "Medical and Elderly Care Integration and Health Care Tourism Innovation Development Summit Forum", sponsored by the Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, Shaanxi Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, China Geriatrics Society, and China Aging Industry Association, bloomed grandly in the main forum area on the afternoon of the 16th. The forum theme is: Health, Harmony, and Happiness.

Feng Xiaoli, President of the China Social Welfare and Elderly Care Service Association, Fan Li, President of the China Geriatrics Association, Li Dongyu, former Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference, Zhao Lan, Member of the Party Group, Deputy Director, and First level Inspector of the Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, Wang Yongchun, Deputy Secretary General of the China Aging Industry Association, Shan Yaofeng, Director of the Social Organization Management Bureau of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, and Lin Quansuo, Chairman of the Shaanxi Aging Development Foundation Hou Peiqi, Executive President of the Shaanxi Aging Industry Association, as well as the President of the National Elderly Care Industry Association in 26 provinces and cities, leaders, experts, industry experts from relevant departments of cities and counties in Shaanxi Province, and some member units of the Shaanxi Aging Industry Association, totaling more than 350 people attended the meeting.

Shaanxi Province has entered a moderately aging society. During the 14th Five Year Plan period, it is expected that the elderly population in our province will reach 9.3 million, accounting for 23.5%. In order to actively respond to the aging population and meet the health needs of the elderly, our province has successively introduced a series of policies such as the Implementation Plan for Actively Responding to Population Aging, the Regulations on Elderly Care Services, and the Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Healthy Shaanxi Action, focusing on building a support system for elderly health.

This forum brings together experts and talented individuals to discuss and exchange ideas on the integration of medical care and elderly care, as well as the innovative development of health and wellness tourism from the perspective of national population development strategies. This is of great significance for accelerating the construction of the elderly health service system and deepening the integration of medical care and elderly care. We will absorb and make good use of the achievements of this forum, leverage various forces, gather advantageous resources, further implement various policies and measures for the development of the elderly population, actively explore the establishment of effective new mechanisms for the development of the elderly population, and promote the Party's policy of benefiting the people to enter thousands of households, benefiting the elderly and villagers of Sanqin Zhao Lan, Deputy Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, said in her speech.

Fan Li, President of the Chinese Geriatrics Society and Director of the National Geriatric Clinical Medical Research Center (PLA General Hospital), delivered a keynote speech on the role of geriatric medicine in health and wellness services.

Professor Yang Tingshu from the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army, Vice President of the Chinese Geriatrics Society Chen Zheng, Deputy County Mayor Yang Ningxiang of Huanglong County, President of the Guangdong Elderly Care Service Industry Association Xu Xiaoling, and Founder of the Green City Health and Wellness Group Jiang Hui shared their reports.

Strategic signing

At the forum meeting, the Shaanxi Aging Industry Association signed strategic cooperation agreements with five units: China Aging Industry Association, China Geriatrics Society, Western Digital Economy Research Institute, Shaanxi Guojin Industrial Development Co., Ltd., and Shaanxi Pharmaceutical Group Industrial Development Co., Ltd.
